Geek Inspired: Dr. Horrible
I cannot express how much I heart Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, the online musical by Joss Whedon about a small time villain struggling to become one of the big bads. This style set can help bring out the musical villain in everyone, with Horrible references both direct and inspired by his mad scientist persona!

The Horse no. 30 by penguinandfish ($65.00) may look sweet, but trust me: he’s a Bad Horse.
I’m sure the Frozen Treat I Spy Bag by thosegreathousewomen ($16.00) would have made the frozen-yogurt-loving Penny (Felicia Day) quite ecstatic.
The X-Ray Notecards by scodioli ($15.00) could have been created by Billy (Neil Patrick Harris) after Captain Hammer sent him to the emergency room for the umpteenth time.
The Enamelled Ray Gun from GirlProps ($7.99) could be mistaken for Johnny Snow’s death ray. Or Icebeam. Take your pick.
Conduct your dastardly deeds with the Experimental Cylinders from Anthropologie ($8.00-$38.00).
Any mad scientist worth his NaCl keeps his chemistry straight with the What’s Your Poison Mats by Frank Studio (£5.00).
My Evil Scientist Goggles by doubleastitching ($90.00) help you see the world through Dr. Horrible’s goggled eyes.
The Au Gold Chemical Element Necklace by Finest Imaginary (£6.99) may not be real gold, but at least it’s not in liquid form.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a young Billy got the idea for a freeze ray from the Young Mad Scientist Alphabet Blocks from ThinkGeek ($39.99).
