Emoticon Your Life
If you want to display your mood through your office supplies, the IconoClasp Paperclips from Geek Gone Chic ($4.95) will let you LOL your way through stacks of papers. The Acme Faces Business Card Holder from Fitzsu ($34.00) will likewise put a smiley face on all your business dealings.
Geek Inspired: Cabin in the Woods
A staple of many horror movies is the ominous cabin in the woods, where kids are stalked by demons, zombies, and serial killers. There’s even an upcoming horror movie by Joss Whedon that’s named for the trope. It’s a visually beautiful setting for horror, with trees and woodland creatures you can enjoy while you shake off the feeling that you’re being watched from the underbrush. Combined with the ensuing bloodstains, a horror flick with a cabin in the woods is set to terrify and inspire!

Undercover Superheroines
The Bust Boobtique helps superheroines keep their identity undercover with a Supergirl Undie Set and a Wonder Woman Cami and Panty Set, for $37.95 each:
However, ripping open your blouse to reveal these crime-fighting ensembles is not recommended.
Marvel’s Model Citizens
Yesterday at the bookstore I picked up a copy of Models Inc., the Marvel comic about models trying to solve the murder of a set designer. The models are Marvel characters both famous (Mary Jane Watson of Spiderman) and lesser known (Chili Storm from Fantastic Four). The first issue also features Tim Gunn from Project Runway, and was distributed during New York Fashion Week this past September.

Swedish Ghosts
With Halloween fast approaching, horrifying ghosts and ghouls are everywhere! However, the SPÖKA Night Lights at Ikea are some of the cutest ghosties you’ll find:
These minimal, cartoonish creations are great for keeping the ominous shadows away from any dark room!
Wild Art: Terrible Yellow Eyes
Where the Wild Things Are is the focus of Terrible Yellow Eyes, a blog by Cory Godbey that compiles artwork inspired by the book. I’ve been following it for a while now, and I adore all the artwork on the site. Every image brings a new and gorgeous scene to the story, and makes my day a bit happier. They recently had a show at Nucleus Gallery, and you should definitely check out all the wonderously wild pieces on the Terrible Yellow Eyes blog site!

Geek Inspired: Wild Things
I remember reading Where the Wild Things Are as a child, but I only began to appreciate the artwork and story as an adult. With the release of the movie, it’s a great excuse to explore childhood again with stylish goods fit for a king! Let the wild rumpus commence after the break:
Wild Things in Captivity
Where the Wild Things Are has been inspiring readers for generations, and the recent movie has spurred the creation of two great collections at Urban Outfitters and Opening Ceremony. The Urban Outfitters collection has more of a cute, childlike feel, with whimsical patters on the Allover Woods Crew T-Shirt, and scribbles on the Wild Grass Pillow. Where the Wild Things Are Dolls are adorable, and go well with the graphic canvas prints.
Opening Ceremony’s Where the Wild Things Are X collection is more refined and expensive, with lots of furry ensembles and quirky details. My favorites include the gorgeously fuzzy Carol Flare Coat and the cute typography on the seen/done/loved T-shirt. The Carol Headband is necessary for when you need to blend in with monsters, and the Ira Claw bracelet is perfect for when your wrist needs a hug.
Penny Arcade and Katamari
This one escaped the weekly links, but it appears before you now: Penny Arcade is holding a contest for the best Katamari in any medium. The first place winner will get a:

That is indeed awesome. Entries must be sent in before November 6th; see the Penny Arcade contest page for more details. So geek creators, get your right brains ready to make the most amazing Katamari of all time!
