From Yashita Tribe: Tale of Troyy by Aya Kakeda

I came upon the work of Aya Kakeda via Etsy, and fell in love with her fantastical prints.  Her work is full of monsters, aliens, robots, and other cute and strange creatures that I would love to meet!  She works in a variety of mediums, from silkscreen prints to embroidery (see the awesomeness above).

When I was searching for monsters on Etsy, I noticed that there were a great deal of Yetis.  Round yetis, tall yetis, bunny yetis, yetis with mustaches…even a zombie yeti!  I can see the Yeti appeal: they’re soft, cuddly, and very mysterious.  And who can resist Yetis when they look like this cute!  See the yetis after the break:

"Monsters in My Cortex" T-shirt + Grr Arg Monster Necklace

Even after featuring Etsy’s monster shops, I’ve only scratched the surface of the monster-y goodness that exists on the web, and I can’t help but look for more!  So the “Monsters in My Cortex” T-shirt by Jean Jullien ($25.00) is eerily apt.  Add a little more humor with the Grr Arg Monster Necklace by Finest Imaginary (£6.99) and you’ve got yourself a monster-loving outfit!

Triangle T-shirt + Wall Pocket

The Triangle T-shirt by Circle T has a repeating Triforce pattern, with a few extra triangles, and the Wall Pocket by Scout Regalia reminds me of a combination of a Zelda rupee and a Bejeweled jewel.  It was inspired by geode mineral formations, so the comparison is definitely fitting.  Still, I play too many video games, don’t I?
