The website for Fred & Friends has some hilariously gruesome home and office supplies that are a combination of a horror movie and Adult Swim’s Five Minutes To Kill Yourself game.  They’re the perfect inspiration for a lighthearted Halloween, with a voodoo doll toothpick holder and a bloody knife as evidence of a kitchen crime.  The neon ghost in the bathroom tries to reach out via the rubber drain stopper, while an innocent paper man is brutally murdered with the blood spattered sticky notepad.

Cabin in the Woods: Inspired by Horror

A staple of many horror movies is the ominous cabin in the woods, where kids are stalked by demons, zombies, and serial killers.  There’s even an upcoming horror movie by Joss Whedon that’s named for the trope.   It’s a visually beautiful setting for horror, with trees and woodland creatures you can enjoy while you shake off the feeling that you’re being watched from the underbrush.  Combined with the ensuing bloodstains, a horror flick with a cabin in the woods is set to terrify and inspire!

Gareth Pugh’s show is space-age goth, with everything from zany headdresses to shiny sci-fi garb.  It invokes several genre giants, from Tim Burton to Star Trek, and even gives an unintentional ode to Silent Hill: the headdress on the model above reminds me of a tiny Pyramid Head with wings.  One outfit looked inspired by the Romulans in Star Trek: Next Generation:
